LENTIL SOUP
This recipe is best in a slow cooker. I usually cook the lentils for at least 24 hours, ensuring good digestion.

INGREDIENTS:
500 grams washed organic lentils
4 washed carrots
1 or 2 onions
Patak's tikka Masala curry paste(coles)
rice bran oil (coles)
1 litre water

PROCESS:
finely chop onions and fry in a splash of rice bran oil until caramelized....be careful to not burn onions, you might need to add a little water.
put washed lentils in slow cooker.
add onions.
cut washed carrots into small/ bite sized pieces...add carrots.
add 1 litre of water and simmer for at least 4 hrs.
add tikka masala curry paste.
do not stir.
Allow the bubbles to rise up and settle at the surface, then gently with a large flat spoon 'skim the scum' from the top. This ensures the lentils will not make you gaseous.
Add extra water throughout the process if you like .
re the digestion of lentils
if you don't skim the skum (the bubbles) off the top YOU will not digest it properly....
