Local hero's make history
If you watched channel 7 news last night you would have seen Sara Reece from local environment group myenvironment.org & Luke Chamberlain from the Wildernes Society, talking about saving the Lead Beaters possum habitat in Victora's eastern forests, near Healsville and Toolangi... How did these 2 local hero's make history ??

For the first time in my time as a greenie I witnessed something I thought I'd never see.....They managed to get MEDIA...SIMPLY BY PROVIDING THE SCIENCE....
Unless You have a little history re activism/protesting that might not mean much to you....this bit of info may put it into perspective for you...
When saving some old growth wet forest in the Acheron several yrs ago. We resorted to locking on to bull dozers for extended periods of time( with absolute care so as not to even scratch the dozer)...the 'LOCK ONS' were made so that not even the SES could get us out of them....when the SES an local police were fed up then eventually the media would come and see why we were being so out rageous....
That was then.
Now, it would appear that Sara and Luke have used intellect, science and dam hard work to get our story of logging old growth lead beaters habitat to the public.... Bravo

NO COAL FOR OUR YOGA ROOM
IM SO PROUD TO SAY THAT FOR OVER A YEAR NOW OUR YOGA ROOM HAS BEEN POWERED BY SUN AND WIND..

I have researched and asked the local environment groups for advice and went with 'ORIGIN ENERGY'.
Its Australian and aparently they have good intentions.

Yes ,it costs more.!..but the committmant from us all to not use coal is ESSENTIAL.

PLEASE ALLOW ME TO ENCOURAGE U TO CONSIDER NEVER HAVING COAL POWER YR HOME AGAIN..........

Coal is dirty and cheap...it is destroying our childrens future...
PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT.....
and if u beleive its too expensive then look at yr budget...
how much do u spend on good wine etc....?


..IF WE MINIMIZE DEMAND THEY WONT BUILD MORE COAL POWERED STATIONS.....maybe thats a fantasy but doing nothing is not an option for me...
